Adam’s Peak is a sacred mountain in Sri Lanka, standing at 2,243 meters in the central highlands which has approximately about 7359 feet. It is renowned for the “sacred footprint” at its summit, believed by Buddhists as Buddha’s footprint, by Hindus as that of Lord Shiva, by Muslims and Christians as Adam’s,. The climb is a major pilgrimage/ adventure .This is a seasonal climb from month of December to May starting from the full moon Poya day in December to the full moon Poya day on May , It is recommended to start the climb at mid night to reach the summit to experience the natural feature of the sunrise. The trail is enriched of scenic beauty and misty valleys . The journey offers both spiritual significance and breathtaking views of Sri Lanka’s central mountains and valleys, making it one of the country’s most iconic landmarks.
Many pilgrims in very walk of like use venerate this mountain during the season with devotion. An average person needs about five hours to climb up and return to the ground another 04 hours.
