Yala National Park
Yala National Park is the most visited and second-largest national park in Sri Lanka, which was designated as a wild life sanctuary in 1900 it covering approximately 979 square kilometers in the southeast of the country. It is renowned for its flora and diverse wildlife, including leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 200 species of birds. The park is divided into five blocks, Yala’s landscapes range from dense jungles and grasslands to lagoons and untouched sandy beaches, providing varied habitats for wildlife. Visitors typically explore the park by jeeps with a competent driver. Generally, the safari will last for 03 hours under the normal circumstances.
Acceptable time to perform the safaris is early morning around 06.00am and in the afternoon by 14.30 Hrs.
